BOOSTME®: How this Ultimate Chronic Stress Terminator Improved My Health – And My Life
Happy But Worn Out
In 2014, I flew a record of 210,000 miles, traveling the world as a public speaker – from Russia to South America to Taiwan and then multiple stops in Europe. I slept as much in planes as in a bed. I barely saw my family – and I never slept in our Florida home more than 10 days at a time. That was great for my work and my passion, as I love training people and sharing my knowledge. Meeting so many business owners, executives or sales professionals across the world is always a very enriching experience. Unfortunately, at the end of that year, I was a physical wreck. My body was in a severe state of fatigue, due to the constant stress caused by the traveling, the bad eating in the planes/hotels and the extensive speaking schedule. I had delivered 171 days of training in 62 different locations across the globe to almost 15,000 people. And as proud as I was, I also had to realize that my energy was running away from me, no matter how many supplements I would take or how many hours of sleep I would get. You probably have heard about the “adrenal fatigue syndrome,” defined by the Mayo Clinic as a mild form of adrenal insufficiency caused by chronic stress. Your adrenal glands produce hormones that help your body control blood sugar, burn protein and fat, react to stressors like a major illnesses or injuries, and regulate blood pressure. Two of the most important adrenal hormones are cortisol and aldosterone. The theory behind adrenal fatigue is that your adrenal glands get overworked when having to deal with constant stress. Long working hours, traveling, environmental pressure, etc. cause these glands to lose power and become less efficient in keeping up with the demands of the body. Signs and symptoms of adrenal insufficiency may include: constant fatigue (even after a good night of sleep), body aches, unexplained weight loss, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, and much more.Adaptogens – The Unknown, Yet Most Powerful Remedy Against Stress
At the end of that year, after I was diagnosed with adrenal deficiency, having to swallow tons of supplements to boost those vital glands, I was introduced by a friend to the adaptogenic BoostMe® formula. At first, I was a bit intrigued but mostly perplexed; I had never heard of that weird word “adaptogens” – also called adaptogenic herbs. How come I did not know about those plants, being “so well” educated on health and having always been a “nature nut”? I had to actually clarify this strange name, “adaptogen” for myself – but when I did, I REALLY got interested!Adaptogen: “A nontoxic substance and especially a plant extract that is held to increase the body’s ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and promote or restore normal physiological functioning” – Merriam-Webster.
So, per scientific recognition across the world, adaptogens are natural herbs that work with a person’s body and help them adapt to stress. Also called apoptogenic herbs, they can act as a natural ally in dealing with persistent stress and fatigue. The reason is that they have a direct impact in regulating important hormones while balancing your whole-body system and optimizing your metabolism. In fact, adaptogens offer several health benefits, including:- lowering cortisol levels
- regenerating brain cells
- alleviating depression and anxiety
- protecting heart health
- protecting the liver
- preventing and fighting cancer
- lowering cholesterol
- protecting against radiation
- balancing the immune system
- decreasing fatigue
